If you have received Duplicator backup files from us, follow these steps to install your website on your server.

 

Step 1: Upload Files to Your Server

  1. Log in to your hosting account and open File Manager (or use an FTP client like FileZilla).
  2. Go to the root folder of your website:
    • If installing on your main domain, upload files to the public_html folder.
    • If installing on a subdomain or subfolder, upload them there instead.
  3. Upload both:
    • installer.php
    • Backup archive (this file may come in different formats such as .zip, .daf, or .tar.gz).

📌 Make sure both files are in the same location on your server.

Step 2: Create a New Database

  1. Log in to cPanel (or your hosting control panel).
  2. Find and open MySQL Databases.
  3. Click Create Database, enter a name, and confirm.
  4. Scroll down to Create User, set a username and password, then confirm.
  5. Assign the user to the database and grant all privileges.

📌 Keep your database name, username, and password handy for the next step.

Step 3: Run the Duplicator Installer

  1. Open your browser and go to:
    yourdomain.com/installer.php
  2. The Duplicator Setup Wizard will launch. Click Next to start.
  3. Enter the database details (name, username, password) from Step 2.
  4. Click Test Database to ensure the connection works.
  5. If successful, click Next to import the database.

Step 4: Complete the Installation

  1. Confirm the site details and adjust the URL if needed.
  2. Click Next to finalize the installation.
  3. Once completed, log in using your WordPress admin credentials.
  4. Remove the installer files (Duplicator will prompt you to do this for security).

Step 5: Final Checks

  • Visit your website to ensure everything loads correctly.
  • Log in to WordPress Admin and go to Settings > Permalinks, then click Save Changes (this helps fix broken links).
